Do you feel comfortable with the doctor and the facility?

You need to feel comfortable with your provider—do you like and trust the doctor?  Along with this, ask yourself: is the facility both state of the art and welcoming? Does the doctor specialize in vascular conditions?

You’ll want to work with someone who has a great deal of experience with all types of vein and artery conditions. That experience means they can diagnose more accurately and treat more capably than less-experienced providers.  They will also be more up-to-date on the latest treatments and procedures.

Is the doctor board certified?

Any doctor can perform vein procedures. However, it is best to trust your legs to one that has the additional rigorous training and certification for both surgery and vascular specialties. Vascular surgeons are fellowship trained with comprehensive knowledge of blood vessels throughout the body including a detailed understanding of problems involving the veins.
