Dr. Renee Minjarez will be a featured speaker at Overlake Medical Center’s upcoming Be Heart Smart event. Dr. Minjarez will be discussing peripheral vascular disease – obstruction of large arteries, which can result from atherosclerosis, an embolism or a blood clot. Peripheral vascular disease can be a serious medical condition that can be treated in part through lifestyle and diet changes. Dr. Minjarez will be explaining the condition as well as answering questions from Be Heart Smart attendees.
The Be Heart Smart event is a fun, informative evening to find out what you can do to improve your odds against having a heart attack. Discussion will include identifying risk factors and symptoms for coronary artery disease and an overview of the innovative diagnostic tools and treatment options available today. Be Heart Smart is part of Overlake Medical Center’s series of health education for the community.
